We’d like to tell you a story. As part of a Signature Biography project, we were invited to a family gathering. The star of this project was a lovely, charming lady by the name of Ruth Ann. During the reunion, we managed to sneak away family members and interview them about Ruth Ann. The stories they shared were funny, heartwarming and full of love. We incorporated these surprise anecdotes into the book we wrote about Ruth Ann. When we presented her with the final product, she was surprised and deeply moved by the love her family expressed.

That’s an example of the Tell Studios Experience. Each one is unique, but they all have a few things in common:

• A starting point. We’ll meet with you to discuss your ideas and help define the vision and scope of your project. Then we’ll create a schedule and budget.


• A relationship. Sharing stories can be a fun and emotional experience, but you must have trust, and we work hard to earn yours. Many of the relationships we’ve developed through Tell Studios have lasted long after the delivery of the final project.


• Skilled, personable interviewers. The interviews you see on TV or hear on the radio can seem effortless, just as ours do. That’s because the interviewer has conducted research and developed just the right questions to get detailed answers like we do. And the interviewer is an excellent listener, like us. That’s how we discover the stories that no one’s heard before.


• Hands-on approach. We’ll guide you — and be there with you — every step of the way so you can focus on the stories. The journey will be a fun, rewarding one!

What’s the process like?

It varies for each project, but here’s what you can expect after our initial consultation:

• Interviews. We’ll conduct a series of fun, casual conversations guided by thoughtful questions to help you remember things long forgotten. We’re curious. We’re thoughtful. We’re empathetic.


• Writing. After the interviews are complete, we’ll transcribe the recordings and then weave the stories into a meaningful, compelling manuscript. It will read like one of your favorite novels — starring you or someone you love.


• Images. Once you’ve gathered your initial selection of photos, newspaper clippings, letters and any other keepsakes that might help enhance your story, we’ll guide you through choosing the images to be printed in the book. (And if you need a deciding vote, you can count on us!)


• Design. After your story is written and you have approved it, we’ll help you select the look of the finished product to best fit your personality and style. Our professional and creative design team will create a stunning layout, with appropriate graphical elements that we help you select.


• Production. Once the layout and design are completed (and approved by you), we oversee all aspects of printing and binding your book. Working directly with professional printers and binders who are carefully chosen for their quality, attention to detail, and archival integrity, your finished book will be something you’ll be proud to show.
