A Family History:
Through vivid family stories, captivating photographs and eloquent letters preserved from a time long past, the history of a prominent and fascinating Texas family comes alive. Pioneer Lee Bivins arrived in the state in the early 1900s. By the time he died in 1929, he had become the largest individual cattle owner in the world and the largest landowner west of the Mississippi. Generations later, the philanthropic spirit he and his wife exhibited has touched thousands of lives.

A Company Story: In Courage is What Counts, Ken Hall shares the inspiring story of Hall Contracting Corporation, a company he built from scratch. It’s now a multi-million dollar corporation known for its integrity and quality. More than a company history, this project is also an inspired family story that pays tribute to the unsung heroes of industrial construction. It is also a fitting tribute to a father and mother, and an enduring gift from a daughter and son-in-law. |

A Slice of Life: We practice what we preach about preserving stories before it’s too late. This is Jeanne’s own story: “After the death of his beloved wife of more than 50 years, my father was finally ready to share his experience as a World War II submarine officer in the Pacific. After dinner — and perhaps a glass of wine — he headed to his computer to chronicle his vivid, detailed memories of his service during the war. Later, working side by side, we edited and refined his fascinating narrative. We started this project as father and daughter. In the end, we were a team, lovingly working together on something more sweeping and significant than the story unfolding on the printed page. We preserved not only his stories, but also those of a grateful family and nation.” |

A Ranch Story: The Bravo Ranch, originally part of the fabled XIT Ranch, had been in the Shelton family since 1915. Jack Shelton, an articulate man in his 80s, realized that he was the only one who knew much of the family history and ranching legacy. If he didn’t record these things, who would? He found us and together we created a beautiful book, filled with breathtaking photographs and compelling family stories. Thanks to Jack’s commitment to his heritage, those photos and stories will always be remembered. |

A Birthday Video: This project could also be called a video 85 years in the making. Immediately after we met Ruth Ann Newby (and fell under her delightful spell of sincerity and charm), she shared these words: “I have often wondered why God has kept me here this long. Now, I know that the reason is to tell my life story.” After completing her beautiful, heartfelt memoir and sharing it with her family, they wanted more. With her 85th birthday approaching, we created a video, combining her recorded voice (from our interviews) with some of the pictures from the book. The unveiling resulted in a surprised Ruth Ann — and not a dry eye in the room, including ours. |
